No-Prep vs. Traditional Veneers
Not all veneers are the same. Here’s how your options compare:
| No-Prep Veneers | Traditional Veneers | |
|---|---|---|
| Enamel removed | Little to none — your natural tooth stays intact | A thin layer (~0.5 mm) is reshaped for fit |
| Reversible | Usually yes | No — the tooth will always need a veneer or crown |
| Numbing | Often not needed | Local anesthetic used |
| Temporary veneers | Usually none | Worn between visits |
| Best for | Chips, small gaps, mild discoloration, worn edges — when your teeth are already well-shaped | Larger gaps, rotated or misshapen teeth, severe staining |
| Visits | Often 2 | Typically 2–3 |
Not sure which one you need? That’s exactly what the free smile design visit is for — we’ll tell you honestly which option (if either) fits your teeth.

Veneers FAQ
Questions People Ask About Veneers
Still have questions? We’ll answer all of them at your free visit.
We design them to match your features so people just think you look great, not “done.”
Most patients feel mild, short‑term sensitivity. We use local anesthetic and gentle technique.
Porcelain veneers are made to last decades with proper care — good home hygiene and regular checkups. We’ll also show you how to protect them.
Veneers at FLOSS start at $1,200 per tooth. Your exact total depends on how many veneers you need, the material, and the complexity of your case. Monthly payment plans are available through Cherry, Proceed, and CareCredit. You’ll get a written treatment plan with total cost and payment options at your free visit — no surprises.

No — especially with no-prep veneers, which preserve your natural tooth. Even traditional veneers only reshape a thin layer of enamel, and we take a conservative approach. If veneers aren’t the right call for your teeth, we’ll tell you at the free visit.
You can often still get veneers, but we’ll evaluate your bite first — heavy grinding can chip porcelain. Most grinders do great with veneers plus a custom night guard to protect them.
You need healthy gums and enough tooth structure. We confirm this at your visit and tell you if veneers are not the best option.
